A French military pilot must make an emergency landing in the middle of the desert. As he tries to repair his plane, he meets the Little Prince who tells him what he has experienced on his travels to other planets in order to understand the true meaning of life. The Little Prince sees the darker side of life through the eyes of an innocent child and defends himself against vanity, greed, and war.
The highly stylized DEFA adaptation, commissioned by East-German television, of The Little Prince (1943) by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry brings to life the existentialist classic in magical artificial landscapes. The film was digitized in 2K.
The film is also available for a Digital Site License for educational partners. Please find more information here.
